Stock Draft for Windows.  Drafting tools for cattle, sheep and deer:

Essential for finishers to maximise returns

  • Three-way drafting: predict grades, the value of your stock and drafting intervals
  • Review drafting decisions
  • Identify carcase weights and dressing %s. Allow for time off feed, class and sex of animal
  • Use weighing indicator data. Import tags and weights or use the carcase generator

Target your payment grid. Present processing results by, species, sex, time since grazing, your category, breed, sire ...

Grading systems reward suppliers that provide animals within defined specifications. StockDraft software may be used to maximise sale value by:

a) forecasting processing outcomes based on objective criteria (species, breed, sex, time since grazing, draft cut-offs, fleece weight, body condition, feedlot or pasture fed,  past history ...)

b) reassessing drafting criteria

c) allocating animals to different sale outlets according to the predicted grading

StockDraft main features:

    • Cattle, sheep and deer drafting. Reference liveweight, carcase weight, fat depth and eye muscle area and other traits.
    • Metric and customary units of measurement.
    • Scientifically based from research in the US and New Zealand.
    • Stock and grade price files may be saved to disk. i.e. to develop a library of files for specific farms and types of livestock.
    • Carcase weights and fat depths are predicted from liveweights using the carcase generator. Factors causing variation in dressing % taken account of: e.g. time since grazing, sex of animal, fatness, feedlot or pasture fed, fleece weight.
    • Process weigh scale indicator data and predict carcase grades and values. Click here for an example grade and price prediction.
    • Direct indicator link or use manufacturer's link sotware.
    • Compare financial returns from different payment schedules.
    • Pasture or feedlot fed.
    • Drafting on a liveweight and/or fat cover basis or to a price per head.
    • Drafting to target other carcase traits.
    • Identify trait ranges. The spread of data around a mean can be edited for carcase characteristics. This is used to identify the expected minimum and maximum or proportions within specified bounds.
    • Graphical interface for establishing fat-weight relationships for individual farms based on slaughter data.
    • Calibrate relationships of other carcase traits to liveweight.
    • Target payment grids relating carcase characteristics to grades and prices.
    • Yield and quality grading as well as other systems (e.g. based on fat depth and carcase weight).
    • Drafting intervals using a selection of rates of liveweight gain.
    • Expected numbers in light, medium and heavy groups using upper and lower bounds.
    • Calculate simple breeding values.
    • Database entry and reporting of expected and actual data.
    • Reports may be printed or saved to a disk file to be included in a farm report.
